dotted with gracious Venetian villas. The area is well known for the manufacture
of gold jewellery and is also the home of the cod fish appreciation society!

- apple pie
02:00 The Flavours of France

A city of major importance since Roman times, Reims was the traditional location
for the coronation of French Kings. Full of Roman ruins, statues and streets,
Reims is also famous for its pottery and the production of vinegar. Sample the
cafes and meet the people of Reims, and learn how to make regional specialities
like Oeufs Poches a la Creme

Sri Lanka
Marco Polo called it the most beautiful island in the world. Today, it is a

hotels sit next to peeling colonial palaces, it produces some of the worst
coffee but probably the besttea. It was the tea exports which brought the name
Ceylon to fame and prominence.
Today, it has problems with the Tamil Tigers in the north of the island but
tourism is concentrated in the south and it is here that visitors can find their
holiday paradise
04:30 Ridge Riders

Across Southern England - Part 4
Presented by Nick Knowles
In the final stage of the journey along the Southern Ridgeways, Nick Knowles
leads riders Kos Evans, an international photographer and Phil Beer of the

Tales of naked highwaymen and Robin Hood's castle abound during this ride along
another of England's ancient highways
05:00 The Great Escape
(The Great Escape)
Calcutta
Presented by Rahul Bose, Aamir Bashir
Today's great escape is a look at the famous city of Calcutta. Presenter Koel
hops on a tram and finds it's not as dirty as she would have imagined. The
Victoria Memorial reminds her of an unhappy British attempt to build a better
Taj Mahal.
She visits the Biria Planetarium, supposedly the biggest in Asia, meets a
famous 'villain' of Bengali cinema and swans around the Tollygunge Club where
the bold and the beautiful of Calcutta go to see and be seen. After a little
horse- riding she finishes her trip to Calcutta with a small meal at the Grand!
05:30 Worldwide Guide

The Bahamas
The names of the islands that make up the Bahamas are known for their snow-white
beaches, turquoise waters and verdant palm groves. New Providence, Eleuthera,
Exuma, Abaco, Bimini, Inagua and Paradise Island are just some of the many
glorious islands in the group.
Columbus discovered the islands in 1492 and today the shallow waters or Baja
Mar (from which the name derives) offer endless possibilities for diving,
swimming, snorkelling, sailing and other watersports. Each island has its own
personality and holidaymakers can choose any style from the fanciest hotel to
the simplest accommodation
